FAQ

Remote Mac approval questions, answered directly.

Mac Nudge is for the frustrating moment when a Mac you stepped away from is blocked by a simple macOS dialog. These answers explain what it can approve remotely, what it intentionally refuses, and when you still need direct Mac access.

Can I approve macOS dialogs from my iPhone?

Yes. Mac Nudge can show standard macOS alert dialogs with visible buttons such as Allow, OK, Continue, Replace, Restart, Cancel, or Don't Allow on your iPhone and click only the button you approve.

Can I approve Finder dialogs remotely?

For simple Finder dialogs with clear buttons, Mac Nudge can show the message and choices so you can approve the exact button from your phone.

Can I use an iPhone to click Allow on my Mac?

For standard macOS alert dialogs with visible buttons, yes. Mac Nudge shows the app, message, and choices, then clicks the approved button on the Mac.

Can I remotely approve Terminal or developer tool dialogs?

If macOS shows a standard alert dialog with visible buttons, Mac Nudge can route it. It does not type into Terminal, approve shell prompts, or handle arbitrary CLI input.

Can I approve Claude Code or Codex prompts remotely?

If the work triggers a normal macOS dialog, Mac Nudge can help. If the tool is asking for text input inside a terminal or browser, use that tool directly.

Does Mac Nudge approve passwords or Keychain prompts?

No. Password, Keychain, System Settings, and security-sensitive prompts stay in the Mac Access area.

What kinds of Macs is this for?

Any Mac you leave doing work while you are away: a work Mac, personal Mac, MacBook on your desk, studio Mac, build machine, backup machine, or AI workflow Mac.

Is this remote control?

No. Mac Nudge does not stream your screen or expose your mouse. It routes a waiting dialog and clicks the exact button you approve.

Why does Mac Nudge need Accessibility permission?

macOS requires Accessibility permission before an app can inspect dialog text and press approved buttons on your behalf.

Can I use this when I am simply away from my Mac?

Yes. Mac Nudge is useful whenever your Mac is somewhere else: another room, another desk, the office, a studio, or your home while you are out.

What is remote macOS dialog approval?

It means seeing a waiting macOS dialog on another device and approving a specific button without opening a full remote desktop session.
